Mr McGuinty:
When you came to power as premier you vowed to make a better Ontario for all Ontarians. Since then you have done the following:
You have implemented a health care "fee" that has never in fact been put into health care but added to the general revenues.
You implemented the HST which, although may be good for businesses and manufacturing and in turn good for those that own businesses and manufacturing concerns, has driven MY cost of living and the cost of livings of pretty much every Ontarian that doesn't own a business or manufacturing concern by 4-5% since the HST's inception.
Attempted to implement a variety of Eco taxes that no one really knew about or understood, that would have further increased every Ontarians cost of living.
The E-Health Scandal occurred.
You passed various pieces of legislation, mostly small minor things, that have slowly eroded my, and others, rights as a parent to raise our children as we see fit. Not the least of which is legislating what it is I can feed my child in their school lunches.
You have done nothing to hold the oil companies accountable in regards to the unexplainable increases in gas prices which have increase on the order of 60-70% since you became Premier and 40% or so in the last 3 years alone, even though Oil prices have actually been less or equal to what they were 3 years ago.
You enacted the green energy act which, along with your brilliant smart metre program, has done nothing but increase energy costs for all Ontarians.
You tendered a multi-billion dollar contract to Samsung as part of your green energy initiative without it ever having gone through the open bidding process typically required for government tendered contracts.
Now you claim:
You can improve the health care system without having to increase health care spending yet you have been unable or unwilling to do so for the last 8 years. Furthermore within days of the claim you announce well over 200 million in additional spending to update, upgrade and improve a hospital in Downtown Toronto. Which is it? Can you do your original claim or will you spend more money because these two things certainly contradict one another.
You claim you government has improved education due to all day kindergarten which in turn lead to increased graduation rates. Unless you have been to the future there is no way to know what kind effect all day kindergarten has had on the graduation rates. Furthermore I would like to know how closely related the increased graduation rates are tied to the fact you made it illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to not be enrolled in some kind of educational institution unless they are able to get some sort of special dispensation. In addition to that I would like to see if the overall GPA's of these increased graduation rates have gone up or down since MANY students that dropped out in the past did so due to poor or failing grades.
You claim you government has recovered 98% of the jobs that were lost in the 2008 economic downturn. However the unemployment rates have not dropped in corolation to your claim. The math does not add up in this regard.
Taking the above into account Mr McGuinty, I cannot, in good conscience, vote for you or your party. I cannot afford your vision and your ideas as to how run Ontario's budget and economy. I will not stand for having my rights as a parent, in regards to how I raise my child how I see fit, slowly legislated away.
In order for Ontario to grow and prosper it NEEDS a change in it's policies, leadership and government.
